A 3 Step Plan to Assist Your Employees Reduce Stress and Anxiety at Work

Stress and Anxiety at Work

“We all want to live rich and meaningful lives — at work and home — without sacrificing aspects of either. Around the world, more and more employees are seeking flexible work arrangements as a result, and companies looking to meet these expectations are increasingly offering a variety of family-friendly policies,” according to Marcello Russo and Gabriele Morandin.

However, adding more flexible hours is not enough to solve this issue. G&A Partners developed a three-step plan to assist your employees in reducing stress and anxiety at work.

Wellness is one of our organization’s top priorities and we have several programs and resources for employees at all levels. It really helps to know that my employer cares for its employees.

More management training is definitely needed to identify the warning signs.

With the pandemic this approach is harder for some areas to manage. Senior Management is bringing on additional Mental Health supports to expand and enhance our response.

Prior to the pandemic our company had established weekly Care Huddles to break up our daily routines. these includes games, mindfulness techniques and to catch up with each other. This was most helpful for employees during the most stressful times of the pandemic

As we transition back to the office, care is now being taken aside from safety is to also ensure those who need it to ease back in as best as possible for mental and physical well being

I know several companies have an EAP program and I think employees don’t always think of this program to get support. I think it is important to remind employees about this program.

In the last year at my organization we have been placing more of an emphasis on wellness of employees just due to the pandemic and burn out from working from home for 2 years. EAP plans are great!

i’ve found employee’s are much more open to talking about their stress since coming back to work from the pandemic. I’m also looking for the signs in my staff, and encouraging a long weekend, or a walk, or a lunch break together, so we can sit as a team and talk. also, my honesty goes a long way with them, if they see i’m having a hard time sometimes it makes it more relatable for them. i’ve implemented “stress free fridays”, i announce it each friday, its a day to catch up with any work that is outstanding, have a laugh, dream about winning the lottery together, and runnig away to an island, seems crazy but its amazing what you find out about the people you work with when you let them dream a little 🙂

I believe this plan offers a great variety of ideas that can reach employees at all levels. The key is to make information very easily accessible so employees can feel they can reach it easily.
